Going nowhere fast on this TFW Marches line train to Cardiff. Network Rail really needs to upgrade the route: a single track each way for the main north-south Wales artery is madness. Passengers stuck in limbo for more than an hour and counting. And TFW, this is poor: not even a hot drinks trolley

Trump bingo. This manages to be both insulting and damaging. (Breaking my own rule about giving it the oxygen of publicity due to being furious.)

Last Friday we unveiled our 22nd Purple Plaque: for swimmer Irene Steer, the first Welsh woman to win an Olympic gold medal (1912, Stockholm). It would be another 96 years before the next one (Nicole Cooke, 2008). www.bbc.co.uk/news/article....
Her grandson showed me the medal!

X owner and Donald Trump ally Elon Musk likes to spend his time sticking his oar into the affairs of overseas governments.

Had a look at the poison on X that Musk seems free to spout about serious politicians including Jess Phillips, the PM, Gordon Brown and others. Do they have a case for defamation @dbanksy.bsky.social ?

I decided to write about 20mph for my Guardian column.

It shows that evidence based policy making does work, but if you get the messaging wrong, you leave the field open for another culture war battle.
