so with this piece narcissus is pleading, begging the gods to give him and his love another chance, holding out pearls and beautiful artifacts, willing to trade his beauty for just one more chance at life

all the while we see the water drip from him cementing his drowning

my concept for each of my pieces for my finale package was for each piece to represent 1 or 2 stages of grief as they relate to narcissus from greek mythology as he is going through the process of grieving his own death

as narcissus is my name sake and means a lot to me

so with this piece we see the act of narcissus drowning upon trying to embrace his own reflection but also him experiencing the first to stages of grief as he awakes now dead

his face split by the lighting like mirror cracks contorting in sorrow and anger as he refuses to accept his own death
