As someone that previously hired many immigrants, legally, I have seen some of these challenges in my own world. The full flow we saw in the past few years was bad for many around me, including the migrants we would fairly and seasonably employ for years.

What happens is profit hungry conglomerates poison the well by exploiting these low wage nations and it depresses our skilled industry. That’s what causes so much fervor towards an immigrant population, if there was a throttle on this, it would improve all around.

Yes, prior to 9/11 times with a sensible balance of trade and labor is a great objective, hopefully some day.
Unfortunately, a lot of bad actors are in place here, and it’s an issue requiring attention and a near term firm hand. It’s not fear but reality, then return to targeting guns, etc.
