Dropping knees between NH 🇺🇸 and CH 🇨🇭
Feeling down on life so I went for a row. The flower is pickerel weed and it was absolutely chock a block full of bumblebees, which have largely disappeared from the suburban landscape over the past 20yrs. Twas nice to see
Look at those yellow spots on one petal - interesting

48 linear feet of potatoes and this is the entire harvest. We mounded with extra straw we had laying around instead of soil and that was a big mistake. The straw became Rodent Central Tunnel, they took everything.

It's 1830 in high summer on the New England coast and I can stare into the sun and not cast a shadow like a vampire. We're so cooked (literally and figuratively)

Subbing to wired for $12 a year (!!!) was and is totally worth it
I'd just like to point out how weird it is that places with hundreds or even thousands of reporters — the NYT, WaPo, CBS, NBC, AP, etc. — are all getting pummeled on every major story by the dozen computerboys at Wired. To fumble the bag this consistently is, at some point, cowardice and a choice.

NEW: Metadata from the “raw” Epstein prison video shows approximately 2 minutes and 53 seconds were removed from one of two stitched-together clips. The cut starts right at the “missing minute.”

Hey @mitchvtwx.bsky.social do you know why there always seems to be a dry slot over southern NH? Is it my imagination or do we always get skipped for storms?

Picked this up thanks to @boringposer.bsky.social suggesting it last year? Two years?
Used! Cheap!
Looking forward to it

I can't stress this enough and there's going to be backlash that will send biking as a viable transportation method backwards
The greatest marketing achievement of the 21st century is the branding and classifying of e-bikes as bicycles.

From "Winds of War" by Herman Wouk
(Incredible read in relation to our current era, just flabbergasting)

Wake up babe, the best way of sorting books just dropped

Astonishingly relevant during this current time of tumult and pathetic rationalization of immorality. Wouk was a powerhouse in the 20th and he should be required reading in the 21st.

My BP is through the roof reading these. A+

I can't scream this loud enough.
When T v1.0 put a tariff on single malt Scotch the prices went up accordingly and when the tariff was rescinded the prices NEVER went back down. People were willing to pay the new price. This is simple capitalist economics and I don't blame anyone but the tariff guy
The CRAZY thing nobody is talking about too is that nothing is ever gonna be cheap again.

If corporations see that we’ll pay these elevated prices, they have no reason to not make those prices their baseline

Every living god we destroy we destroy for cars
A 450-yo oak is felled without permission by a Toby Carvery (don’t eat there), who falsely claimed it was "dead".
A tree alive when The Gunpowder Plot was hatched, which supports a web of 2000+ species, is in pieces.
Legal protection for heritage trees needed.

The owner of the pub chain falsely claimed the tree was dead as justification for the felling which has shocked local people and prompted outrage from conservationists across the country

Feeling terribly vindicated right now and riding a euphoric high. Class prevents me from wagging my finger in my dummy coworker's/friends faces but I'm going to enjoy these 5 minutes.

(And before you come at me I am most likely going to lose my job if not my career for the rest of my working life)

Yo @dzbillfulton.bsky.social an early test run on marijuana use/charges (dropped) and very late legal action. Not felony but deportation. Similar shades of your 2a theory

I guess Republicans in Congress are okay with this?

An example of coppicing (not for wood though), as often advocated by @thelastfarm.bsky.social, but coppicing to keep my trees under control and maintain my view. These are beech trees, and we do this every year. I can dry and burn the sticks as kindling. The trees are over 40yrs old.

The best part of Switzerland is the high number of energetic weirdos who dabble in a million things and their close proximity to everyone else. No need to hunt through the suburban sprawl, they are the next village over, cousin to your neighbor, and they are doing the coolest shit!

Tuckerman Ravine and Duchess are the most filled in I've seen in a long while. Beautiful. Duchess a cake-walk, in these conditions. Compare to early April two years ago! (Red line my ski line, ignore)
