“History was written by the winners” doesn’t mean that the history of the losers doesn’t exist. It means you have to judge and interpret sources with the knowledge of the biases of the people who wrote them.

he absolutely did. we know he did, beyond shadow of a doubt. argue all you want about theology and whether he was The Messiah, but Jesus of Nazareth absolutely was a real person
