How is someone in their Comms team not looking at their track record and going.. ok, the leadership thing, backfired and Keir looks weaker. Row back on tax after all the prep...hmm will that make us look weaker? They seriously need a new voice in there to message stuff better & more consistently

There seems to be an agreed line from the right on this, to defend the flag itself as not being racist, rather than the people putting them up and their reasonings. The same argument was played out by the foul Carole Malone on the sub GBeebies @jeremyvine.bsky.social C5 show yday #politicslive

I agreeish but that's exactly why you don't piss off the people who think a leap to Green might not be a bad thing, that's the poll slide in action, and might not be easy to reverse. It's all about the absent message right now. But Maurice Glasman's is entirely the wrong one to push imho.

Brilliant, beautifully put as a reflection of exactly my frustrations. I do worry that this outcome will cement a view that the BBC have a problem with LW bias and be an excuse to be more RW in their political reporting of Reform etc when I think the more systemic problem is the other direction.

So the BBC is trying to fix the view that it is biased to the left by these resignations? What the actual.. ? Any attempt to put in a replacement that is centrist never mind even slightly left of centre will be harangued to death. Let's hope for a sensible choice, but not holding breath.
