Gaza absolutely must have a harbor and airport. No part of the blockade can be allowed to remain. Israel cannot be allowed to have control or jurisdiction over Palestinians ever again.

There is not a person on earth anymore who genuinely believes that Israel deals in good faith with Palestine.

Damn. Phillipstown hub in Ōtautahi is set to close for land repurposing. Its been an incredible hapori space for 10 years, on an old school site. Lot of community groups, classes & services use the space, massive māra kai, galas & activities each year. Gunna be hard to find space another like it.

If you haven't read Manufacturing Consent by Herman and Chomsky I highly recommend it.

Specifically because it does such a good job of leading you from the position of "knowing" the media are biased to shocking you with just how deliberately untruthful it is.

At wānanga this week we were asked to write a haiku using tika, pono and aroha. This is what I came up with. Am very much a beginner with my te reo & welcome any feedback.

Manaakitanga,
mahara ki aroha,
tika me pono.

Flood of reports continue from Kiwis being deleted or moved off the Maori roll. This concerns every single Kiwi who cares about NZ.

Tomorrow is the cut off for local elections & next step is more complex special voting. EC says they've moved some to dormant but reports are highly suspect

Recommend extending this attitude into multiple areas within your community. Run for your school and community boards, join your local PTA, fuck, run for council!

Show up to counter the fascist cunce.
Incredibly heartening seeing everyone on here with InternetNZ membership live-threading the AGM

People are really showing up for these fights, and even if we *lose* some of these, the experience, community and resilience gained from this sort of activism is invaluable

Whether removing people from the Māori roll is intentional or part of some 'administrative error', it provides a really solid example of why people need to be able to update their enrolment details right up to the final day of an election.

#NZPol
Lots of people who were on the Māori roll are posting on Facebook that they've checked their enrolment details and either aren't showing as enrolled or have been moved to the General roll without their consent. Haven't seen anything in the media about this yet.

Check you're enrolled at vote.nz
