I just don't think enough people are talking about how the RESOLUTE DESK, one of the most famous and valuable items belonging to the people of the United States, has turned up in Mar-a-Lago.
This shirt also, for no real reason, has the Space Force logo on the arm. It really is just a vanity reminder polo from every angle.
He has his name on his shirt so he can look down and know who he is.

So the terms we had Bukele agree to were basically “no lawyers, no abortions.”

No mention about keeping them safe or not torturing them.

You absolutely need to go, it is hilarious.
This is both understandable for arXiv to do and a big hit to the pre-print world. It may be limited now but I imagine open submission sites are going to just clamp down more and more.
arXiv will no longer accept review articles and position papers unless they have been accepted at a journal or a conference and complete successful peer review.

This is due to being overwhelmed by a hundreds of AI generated papers a month.

Yet another open submission process killed by LLMs.

Ooh looking it up that amendment passed ~80% to 20% to add the language "Slavery and involuntary servitude are forever prohibited." ballotpedia.org/Tennessee_Co...
I remember driving through Tennessee and seeing a billboard for an amendment that just said "Y'all, slavery is still in our Constitution," and thinking it was really all you should have to say on this.
You could almost, I dunno, re-draw this as a pyramid maybe?
Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, argues that technological revolutions are driven by new ways of paying for them. Here are unusual financial agreements helping to drive the ambitions of the poster child of the A.I. revolution.

This comic is perpetually stuck in my head. Every once and awhile it pops back in to my thoughts and I need to re-read it.

Boy, North Carolina Republicans sure don't want the attached story to circulate. I sure hope that this stupid threat from their spokesperson doesn't boomerang on them and have a lot more people read and share the story, which once again, is conveniently attached below. That would be a shame.
Well I was surprised when I saw LA was going to cover SNAP. Now I am less surprised with how they plan on doing this. No better time to support/donate to food banks. (no-hunger.org)

I don't wish for the AI bubble to burst sooner rather than later because I want all of the bad impacts of a bubble to happen sooner. I want it to burst so we stop adding it to things before we ruin everything.
I got an invitation to use the "Nature Research Assistant", put up a paper on intuitive physics and asked it for more references to relevant papers; can you guess why I marked those parts in red

This really was an enjoyable read. I too have been recommending it to everyone!
I recently finished Automatic Noodle by @annaleen.bsky.social and am recommending it to everyone I see. Post-apocalyptic in a sense but not desperate because so many of the characters care about each other and their community and want to build them up. I have a feeling I’ll be rereading this soon.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.
