Stuff like this reminds me of a comic strip I saw years ago, one of those single image ones but I don't remember which one.

On one side it had a sparse but tasteful room, the other a gaudy nightmare like this and it said, "Choose Your Hell" - no money but great taste or lots of money and no taste.
