This is a walk cycle featuring one of my characters, Sarah. I made this for a recent class assignment but I never got to add the hair on her before the due date. Fun fact: This is the second character Ive done a walk cycle for, with the first one being Scamp This ball bounce was the first animation I did in CSP back in December 2024. Unlike the other 3, this was done on 1s instead of 2s (meaning one drawing every one frame instead of one drawing every two frames). I thought I was shooting on 2s because in the new file menu, it said the shot number was 2, so I thought it would automatically set the animation on 2s. I realize saying outloud how dumb I sounded because in order for it to be actually done on 2s, you need to make a new animation 2 frames after the first one, just how like how what I did when scanning in traditionally drawn animations for school. I have no idea why I didnt think of that when working on this but that being said, it doesnt look too bad on 1s! This was the second animation I did in CSP, and another one I did as a class assignment (this one proceeding the walk cycle I did for Sarah). Its essentially a pendulum animation but as a Wig Wag railroad crossing; a type of crossing that many railroads west of Chicago used back in the day. Initially, I had done it 1s like with the ball bounce until I realized why it wasnt on 2s. The conversion wasn't that difficult, since all I had to do was click "insert frame" for all of the drawings so that there would be one drawing for every two frames. And thats what I love about CSP's Animation tool! Its complex but it very flexible as an animation tool, in comparison to Photoshop's timeline tool which is incredible basic but incredibly limiting. This is the most recent animation I did in CSP, completing it last night. This is another class assignment but specifically for my animation class (the wig wag and the walk cycle were for a different class), where we had to animate a guy jumping in, saying hi a couple of times, then jumping off screen. We had to do this doing the straight ahead method, where instead of drawing out the key poses and adding in-between drawings, everything is done in order without going back to previous drawings. Kinda like stop motion. Not going to lie, I was nevous going in because while I had done straight ahead animation before, those involved characters moving towards or away from the camera meaning I didnt have to worry about controlling my volumes. Ironically though, I ended up completing these in about 2 hours and the process itself wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. Apart of me still feels weird that it took me 2 hours where in the past something like this would've taken me longer, but I guess that shows how much Ive grown as an animator since September
