Today, the MUN Campus Coalition, representing over 20,000 members of the university community, sent an open letter to Minister Howell and Premier Furey calling on them to meet with stakeholders and to restore funding to MUN.

Honestly, the Furey government has absolutely broken the University with hairbrained schemes designed to make Furey budgets look better. That was it. That was the whole point.

The unwillingness to move on and fix what they did is going to cost them.

In real terms, provincial government funding to the University has been cut by 40-50% in recent years - that's a serious thing for any public institution to try to deal with... Blaming the problems of the University on a small decrease in enrolments is a strange analysis.

December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada.

This day marks the anniversary of the massacre in 1989 of 14 young women at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal.

They died because they were women.
