Tree diversity is often not the main variable structering higher trophic levels or only at specific stages of forest succession. Our PhD student Joshua Spitz showed that increasing canopy cover (not tree diversity) structures litter ant communities with less predators/predatory traits. #ECTC2025

Host-parasitoid networks are structured by tree species richness, tree phylogenetic diversity, and canopy cover. New study led by our Chinese partners #MultiTroph published in elife.bsky.social
