Foraged bottles from the nature reserve. The kids are absolutely obsessed with searching for them at the moment.

Beautiful structures of decay.

A gift from the garden.

Back with this beautiful book again. It's the unusual combination of being powerful and provoking but also brilliantly accessible. Have you read it?

Phosphate levels on our stretch of the Irwell today. 0.1ppm is the recommended upper level. This is likely to signify a highly polluted river.

I basically just want to live in a world where there are still phones in this building and I walk out of my house to use one to call my friends. 💚☎️💚

I love these conjoined trees in the nature reserve. Reaching out and holding on. 💚🌳💚 Has anybody ever seen trees doing this before? #forest #trees #nature

I wish I could share my home fermented, nut milk kefir with you. I can't believe how good it is. And the nut pulp from making the milk has been used to make a delicious "cream" cheese. 💚💚💚

Absolutely obsessed by the way that these fungi in the nature reserve were following the root away from the tree. The wild world is incredible. #nature #fungi #mycellium

Update on the blue Victorian poison bottle. When I cleaned it the powder in it (which I thought was soil) turned the water bright blue. What might it be? #localhistory #archaeology #industrialarchaeology

Beautiful irises in our garden today. They are a fleeting feature, but whilst they are here they are pure perfection.

Great bottles from the bottle dump today. 1950s Brylcreme pot and Georgian or Victorian poison bottle. The poison bottle was full of purple powder. Dread to think what that was. #localhistory #archaeology #naturereserve #postindustrial

Working in the nature reserve today. Same way as we have done most Wednesdays for eight years. What a joy to connect to one place and build relationship over a long period of time.

It was so amazing to spend the day in Hebden Bridge yesterday with 29 (!!!) artists and creatives exploring the basic ideas of Permaculture Design, and how they may help the development of more regenerative arts practice. Such a joy to be part of these conversations!

Heading east over the Pennines to deliver a workshop today. Bought a ticket from the ticket office at the station. Queued for a minute. Chatted with the guy about the weather and the hills. So much better than the ticket machine, or an e-ticket. 💚🚞💚

Once you see this pattern for knitted socks you won't be able to unsee it.

A gang of crows have started hanging out in the tree at the end of our street every evening and troll the local dogs. I love them so much!
