Passive stretching will only get you so far, especially if you’re not naturally flexible.

It is much safer and reliable to use strength as a mechanism to build mobility.

This change in intention will allow you to build your way into new ranges… new movement options.

But to achieve something implies there was a point you weren’t there and had to take consistent actions.

Reframe intimidation as a potential future you can work up to if you so choose to.

Linear movement patterns will only get you so far.

Getting creative and expressing force in different angles gives your body more variety-more data and experience it can pull from.

By the time you go back to linear paths, your body will be much stronger and adaptable.

10 Weighted Push Ups with Extra Range of Motion

10 Over Shoulder Squats (5 each side)

7-10 Rounds

90-120sec of rest

For years I avoided weights, thinking it had no place in calisthenics.

The truth? It was the missing piece.

Adding weights strategically helped isolate weak points, add volume, & made bodyweight skills easier to progress.

Most people struggle to unlock new calisthenics skills because they’re not focused in building their CAPACITY.

I spent months mastering the basics: Push Ups, Pull Ups, Dips.

It was easy for me to try and train new skills after.

Focus on strength first, then skills second.

Mobility is built & earned, not gifted!

It’s likely you have neglected your own potential for movement.

What is not used, you lose. To gain back your right, you need to slowly expose and get strong at new ranges.

Calisthenics is unmatched in body transformation.

The amount of body attributes you have to get better at in order to perform these movements means body transformation beyond just muscle.

So much working underneath the surface, it’s the beat bang for buck in transformation.

3 Sets is for Beginners!

That being said, sticking to 3 is limiting you as you are not pushing the volume enough to induce massive adaptations in the body.

Start doing 4 and 5 sets and see the difference in your body and performance.

Passive stretching will make the quality of your tissues more pliable and elastic

But it doesn’t guarantee Strength & Control.

Mobility is your Ability to Move.

You need Strength for that
