A lot of people are going to walk away from the Ghislaine Maxwell coverage with the impression that our prison system isn’t punitive enough but I’d say it highlights how most everyone else is treated with *deliberate* cruelty.

I actually had a very similar discussion in my CCS grad seminar this week. We were reading Conquergood and we situated performance as strain of theory typically outside of CCS. And then we really sat with the question of why 👀
I do think there's a difference between critical/cultural analysis and critical/cultural studies (the latter is imbued in American rhetorical studies)
