Rudy’s extensive ties to Russian and former Soviet Bloc criminals had been publicly documented for decades before his Ukraine-related corruption became headline news in 2021: - In the 1990s, one of Rudy’s biggest campaign donors was Semyon Kislin, a wealthy Ukrainian businessman who was tracked by the FBI due to his Russian mob connections. While Kislin donated to other American politicians, Rudy was the only one to reward the creep by appointing him to the New York City Mayor's Council of Economic Advisors - In 2004, Rudy met with Yury Luzhkov, Moscow’s then-Mayor known for massive corruption involving the Kremlin and Russian organized crime - Rudy had such extensive business ties to the Kazakhs who were found guilty of running a massive criminal organization that a human rights group had reason to believe that his law firm was involved in their multi-billion dollar money-laundering scheme

Don’t listen to this “no longer” tripe - Schumer’s ties to Trump go back decades so he was never going to be meaningful opposition
From a 2017 Time Magazine interview with Chuck Schumer: “After World War II, a lot of these immigrant families started building houses. And [my maternal grandfather] built little rowhouses, and Fred Trump was building little rowhouses, too, and they knew each other. I think they had the same lawyer. And they would share supplies occasionally, and things like that.…. [Fred Trump] had a big black Cadillac. Now they were already wealthy. They lived in Queens, in Jamaica Estates. But they had a lot of apartment buildings in Brooklyn.” While you shouldn’t be judged by the caliber of the people you grew up around, Schumer and Trump rarely left each other’s orbits. As young men, they both attended the 52nd birthday party of ruthless “Red Scare” prosecutor and mob lawyer Roy Cohn. In 2006, Schumer appeared on Trump’s reality TV show The Apprentice, seemingly happy to praise the future President despite being a well known criminal and con man at that point. Between 1996 and 2016, the Trump family donated nearly $20,000 directly to Chuck Schumer’s political campaigns, meaning Schumer had received more donations from Trump than any other sitting member of Congress in 2016.

Andrew Cuomo — who has been praised as a “pragmatist” and “a strong and proven leader” and “the best choice for mayor” by Corporate Democrats — is a corrupt nepo baby with a long record of shady dealings and criminal ties. Andrew’s first law firm helped Trump cozy up to his then-governor father and his administration, including the officials who looked the other way when Trump shortchanged the City by $2.8 million worth of hotel property taxes in 1987. Later, as HUD Secretary, Andrew oversaw the unregulated expansion of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac after legalizing kickbacks to mortgage brokers who tricked people into taking on the most predatory home loans available. Articles about the mayoral race — which used to be fairly critical of Ripped Condom Andrew Cuomo — have become less and less honest about Mamdani’s challengers. Instead of referring to Andrew as New York’s disgraced former governor, they’ve started glossing over and completely ignoring his extensive history of scandal and corruption. This is especially true when it comes to Andrew’s connections to the global far-Right, like how he joined the “legal dream team” defending Dead Tooth Benjamin Netanyahu against charges of war crimes in Palestine.

The Grand Hyatt, the midtown hotel that UDC had helped Donald build in the ’70s, also got its own special state service in the Cuomo years. The benefactor again was Vincent Tese, whose agency was still the Hyatt’s landowner and was required to collect the hotel’s annual property tax payments and pass them on to the city. When Trump suddenly slashed his payment by 80 percent in 1987, UDC just accepted it without raising any questions, though it had a right to audit the Hyatt’s books under the terms of the lease. Several months later, the city asked UDC to allow its auditor general, Karen Burstein, to audit the hotel’s paltry $667,000 payment, and UDC went along. The city audit revealed that Trump had shortchanged the city by $2.8 million.

And this just barely scratches the surface — Knockoff Dior Bag Andrew Cuomo was also involved in ten scandals from 2013 to 2021, only two of which drove him to finally resign in disgrace.

From the comments on this, it seems like most folks don’t know just how close Trump and Netanyahu are, or that their relationship goes back to the 1980s:
Trump is supporting this genocide, too, and if Trump were in power – you know, his whole family has been in bed with Netanyahu since the 1980s. Fred Trump was a close friend of Netanyahu when Netanyahu was living in New York and working at the UN. Netanyahu also slept at the home of the Kushner family. Jared would move to another room and Netanyahu would take Jared's bed because he's very close to the Kushner family.

Had fun at the Bad Movie Monday club last night
Letterboxd review of Going Bananas (1987) by DrCrushHer One star This was a rough one - nonsensical plot, 99% of jokes fall flat, dated vibes by 1980s standards, casual racism, billions of loose ends, a sequence that rips off E.T., and on and on. The chaotic action and slapstick was so poorly done yet high-energy that it reminded me of those AI generated YouTube videos that are designed to distract toddlers with bright colors and lots of movement just long enough for their exhausted parents to take a shower in peace. The only good thing I can say about it was that the actors were genuinely giving it their all. My favorite part was when our three heroes tried to save their monkey friend Bonzo from the circus cuz it involved fighting blood-thirsty trapeze artists 100 ft in the air, threatening terrifying falls and brutal splat-deaths in front of a crowd of innocent children

The article kind of breezes past this, but the newly disclosed Epstein connection to Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg caught my attention. If that name sounds familiar, it’s cuz he has shady ties to Trump, Putin, and Netanyahu:
Vekselberg's name may sound familiar, as he's long been embroiled in Trump World. He attended Trump's inauguration in January of 2017, and from then until August of 2017 sent several payments totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars to Michael Cohen, Trump's former attorney and fixer, through a company called Columbus Nova. Vekselberg also attended a 2015 dinner in Russia with Michael Flynn, Trump's first national security adviser who resigned after just weeks on the job after it came to light that he lied about post-election conversations with Russia's ambassador to the United States. The dinner Flynn attended with Vekselberg was hosted by RT, Russia's English-language, Kremlin-controlled media network. Vekselberg partnered with Israeli-Russian billionaires Len Blavatnik, who is invested in Israeli media, connected to Netanyahu and is also under Mueller's spotlight, as well as Russian- Israeli billionaire Mikhail Fridman. One of their joint holdings was Alfa Bank, which, according to the Steele Dossier, owned a mysterious internet server found in Trump Tower.
