Back in Sweden. An hour left until I'm in my little town I grew up in. Already feeling relaxed after this bullshit school year. Next will be my last at the school I'm currently teaching at. Too much bullshit.

So yesterday my boss decided that the last meeting of the school year would be about chastising people for using their PTO and giving out attendance awards. America is sick.

My school is merging my class with another class. I found out the same day the parents did. The school claims it's just been busy and they haven't had a chance to meet with me. I think they didn't want me to complain. My co-teacher is considering quitting.

You know it has been a hell of a school year when one colleague asks if someone can call in a bomb threat, and another thinks the administration should serve alcohol after dismissal.

It might feel ridiculous for some and some women might find it offensive... But as a woman who probably have fertility issues it's nice to get a Happy Mother's Day text from my SIL and FIL because I have a "fur baby" 🐕

There are some articles in newspapers and radio interviews these days with Swedish doctors who speak poorly about doctors abroad and treatments abroad.
It is a sort of egotistic reflex to defend national shortcomings.
I haven't met this type of doctor, luckily, most are OK with trying abroad.

Very interesting if you only read the summary bullet points it makes it sound as if the treatment hasn't worked. If you listen to it tho, it clearly has worked. They also interview a Swedish Dr who is obviously pissed off about it

Spring Break is coming up. I'm exhausted. I went to bed before 9 last night and I forced myself out of bed to make coffee. So much to do to prep for Friday. I could sleep for days.

A week ago I had my permanent retainer removed that my Swedish dentist said I would wear for the rest of my life. My American dentist has complained a lot about my Swedish dentist... For the first time in 20 years I get to feel all my teeth without metal in my mouth and suddenly flossing is "fun".

It's so nice when you hear colleagues talk about how good these cuts and savings are while I'm just over here knowing I'll soon lose my health insurance because of all of this...

So HR has made it official. Unless the FAA gets more funding my husband will be reduced to part-time and we will lose health insurance, life insurance, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
