It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so. — Mark Twain
Turn on Lawrence. He's been 'splaining the Senate and has Sen. Whitehouse on with his perspective, too. If you've missed it, stay up late and watch the re-run! It's well worth it.

True, however, the message is very strong - both to them and other MAGAts - get ready to disrupt the next elections. Felon47 will have their back.

Yep. Two retiring at end of '26. More don't run again until '28, and the rest not until '30.
They succeeded in setting the table for Nov '26 after first pulling back the curtain & exposing Rs as cause of the shutdown, airport chaos, SNAP, healthcare, etc.
Voters WILL remember who made the mess. 🤭🙂

It's the voters who are out of touch. It's obscene to expect positive results from electing a gov full of GOP Nazi Fascists and then hoping Dems can rescue the situation as minority.

Thank you. What will it take to get people to learn how Congress works! We're hearing the same thing from several experienced members!
The Senators who they're blaming are probably the only ones who could - two are retiring. Some more are up again in'28. The rest not until '30.
They sprung the trap.

How am I feeling?

Pretty damned good, actually!
Between Tuesday and Saturday, many were worrying about keeping the electorate enthusiastic about Nov '26.
We would have NEVER won this health care issue with this Congress.
Now? We have the HUGE issue laid right at the feet of 47&GOPs for '26.
YAY!

I just re-read your comment here and find I'm still confused a bit by the double-negatives in the third sentence; i.e., where exactly were you heading with that one?
If you don't mind, could you clear that up for me?

Of course, none of this has anything at all to do with Harriet's frustration.

I agree. After over 40 years working litigation as a staffer, I have several ideas. Probably the most important (to me) is establishing a "rocket docket" to enable the federal court system to provide very quick attention to various pre-trial procedures that pertain to criminal cases.

No. "Better" would have been American voters had wised up sooner and hadn't sat out the '24 election.

Obama said it last weekend (and so did many of US) "We warned you."

Trump wants to use SNAP to force the Dems to cave and vote for the utterly DIRTY CR. He's made it quite clear; hungry children, disabled people, elderly, and working people who aren't paid enough to buy enough food are excellent hostages.

In my state, Washington, we do not declare a party affiliation when registering to vote. I much prefer that system, because it makes it much harder for the Rs to target people for suppression.
Because of their new demand for declaring a party in the POTUS primary (only), I skipped that election.

Here it is. Conway gives credit to Bob Marley, but wasn't it Eric Clapton? I searched youtube, and both men recorded it around 1977, so IDK who was first. Anyhoo ... Sandwich version:😁

Okay, so I did it. In honor of Sandwich Guy, on what should be the last day of his trial, I figured out the chords. And so, with apologies to the late and great Bob Marley, I banged out this quick and (very) rough rendition of "I Threw the Sandwich." 🤣

I've noticed.
Also the adoring look on her face, and frequently nodding in agreement with the BS he spouts.
I keep wondering if there is anything inside her head.

Aww, Harriet! You sound like a teenager ready to take on the HS principal's office and throw out all the teachers!

The AZ Attorney General has filed suit in DC on behalf of the citizens of the 7th District and it's new Congresswoman-elect.

Because she's taking another run at the SCOTUS in her mission to impose her religious beliefs on the entire country. IIRC, in their conference they considered whether or not to take up her new appeal in which she is attempting to persuade them to throw out the entire 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges case.

I feel like we’re going to be stuck in this nightmare for another decade.

After Donald Trump, who do you see as our new opposition tormentor?

Vance? Vought? Rubio? Jr? Scott?

That’s the thing, there’s really not an heir apparent. None of them have the cult following of Donald Trump, and none of them are really all that charismatic.

I think we’re more likely to see a major GOP civil war for control, that will result in a fractured party.
