This is excellent news, but too late for me. However, I do wish more mental health nursing options were available, as currently, adult nursing seems more predominant. If I had had the opportunity for the 15-month pathway, I would have been able to graduate by next month instead of September 2026.

I’ve received some fantastic news from an academic that I can’t share for now. However, it is lovely to hear that I have been the top scorer in academic performance and that the university has received excellent feedback about me from the clinical placements.

Next week I will be attending an BAME women leaders conference with my best friend. I would have submitted my two assignments. And I can see the dates for the Dissertation module on my timetable. The end is near!!! I am excited to be taught by a mental health nursing Professor with a PhD as well ✨.

I attended another meeting with the Clinical Education Team at my NHS Host placement Trust and was able to give feedback as a mental health nursing student nurse. I look forward to the next meeting next month.

Points up for Somali men. They have voted the second most beautiful men in Africa, and one of them just helped me carry my shopping all the way to the car as I was struggling. The specific rice brand I was asked to buy was much bigger than I thought.

I was talking to a senior nurse about ADHD and Autism specialist mental health nurses assessors with prescribing rights in the private sector. It’s a good career pathway but knowing myself I know doing constant assessments would become boring for me and I like continuity of care the most in nursing.

How do we ensure fairness in the NHS? To ensure people are fair in teamwork, maintain psychological safety, and facilitate educational and career development progress? When we rely on people and policies, there are flaws and a lack of accountability. How do we create fair systems and leaders?

Next week we will finish Part 2 out 3 of MSc meaning we only have dissertation left for next year. I changed my original idea and I am going write about a research proposal on Somali community in context of mental health problems which I am interested to develop on later on as a mental health nurse.

I was recently suggested for a position at the UN or the WHO. It is definitely a goal for me for the future that I have always wanted to do, which is to set up mental health nursing education and community mental health nursing in Somaliland, in shaa Allah.

My mental health nursing lecturer asked me if I would consider teaching and consultancy, which is a huge compliment 💙.

I was reflecting on a PhD fellowship, now that the deadline for the first stage has passed. The outcome will be next month. It’s extremely competitive, but I could see myself as a clinician, academic, and influencing how we practice mental health nursing, especially from a transcultural perspective.

The brief social media detox was good, I will keep it more permanent. I need to focus for the next two weeks. Once I have submitted the two assignments, only dissertation left for next year in shaa Allah.

I believe that fairness is an essential quality for leaders to uphold throughout their careers, especially when they gain power and privilege. It is not uncommon for individuals to falter and exploit their newfound power rather than focusing on effective leadership.

I accepted an invite to dinner by a senior nurse as a friend. I know them from a different Trust before they were a nurse. They are Muslim. That are two dates coming up by two people who have expressed interest in me in the past and I am considering different dates for 2026. Let the best men win 😆.
