The case appears to be an example of a tactic that the Trump administration has used to pressure undocumented immigrants to leave the United States by separating them from their families after they refuse to comply with deportation orders.

This is only marginally more insane than the Bush admins invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003. That invasion was also unlawful under intl law but the good ol Congress decided to make it legal under US law by passing the 2002 AUMF. Here there isn’t even that www.nytimes.com/2025/11/04/u...

The NY Times is taking its renowned skills at writing obfuscating headlines & applying c it to the Trump admin’s illegal assassination campaign against civilians in boats. You’d think from these headlines the boats had no ppl on them when they were “destroyed” but, actually, 14 ppl were killed.

The cases relating to Palestine at the ICJ are going to build on 1 another. It was already likely ICJ was going to conclude Israel was committing genocide in Gaza in the South Africa case. Seems like this adv op has made that as close to 💯 certain as it could bsky.app/profile/drme...
Humanitarian crisis in #gaza is direct risk to existence of #Palestinian people & their ability to exercise self-determination. #Israel cannot prevent requirements of people in #Gaza to exercise self-determination.

The ICJ has now said what so many have been saying for months - that Israel has NOT proven that UNRWA’s employees are “Hamas” and that the org - which continues to be blocked from entering Gaza by Israel - is vital to providing aid to the Strip. bsky.app/profile/drme...

Court considers particular relevance obligation to respect priv & immunities of UN, premises & property; of UN personnel; to address any concern regarding priv & immunities within legal framework.

Looks like the ICJ rightly slammed the Gaza Humanitarian Fund as being a ruse that did nothing to alleviate Israel’s legal duties to provide aid to Gaza and instead hurt the people of Gaza bsky.app/profile/drme...
#Israel set up the GHF, which only had a few distribution points, claiming this was necessary to prevent diversion of aid by Hamas. This system did not align w/humanitarian principles, did not meet people's needs, & put people at risk. Other orgs would not collaborate w/GHF.
