This nonsense only has the Serif font going for it. The covered bridge picture is indecipherable from another car at 70 miles per hour. Also: covered bridges are a New England thing. Never heard of the association with Indiana. Hazy sky gradients are also really overdone.

I'm getting the sense--from this emdash discourse--that we need to go bigger. We need absurd dashes. Monster, kerning-destroying behemoths. The kind of dashes that would make a typesetter throw their letters into the Thames. We need giant, Emily-Dickinson-dividing-a-page-into-sections sized dashes.

So. The NY Knicks lost game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals last night. They lost it because of this picture--an Iowa CBS affiliate using the OJ Simpson Bronco chase as the stock photo for a story about traffic.

The crux of the theory is simple: Juice is in the news? Knicks are gonna lose.

That side of the room wasn’t so interesting—Haf’s attention was on the beautiful man in the twin of the chair she’d rejected. He was a walking advertisement for anything he happened to be wearing—winning smile, chiseled jaw, artistic hints of stubble, and a suit they’d probably sewn him into right after he left the gym that morning. Arturo Quintani, he’d said. Professional rich boy—Haf knew the type well enough to start the meeting annoyed. “I took the liberty of checking up on the deceased,” she said, mostly to the heir in the cologne, mostly to see his reaction, “and the police have already ruled his death accidental. Pardon my candor—he was an old man, he’d been drinking, he tripped and hit his head. I’m not sure what you expect me to find.”
