Predictable but still amazing to watch people who spent literally years accusing every librarian, teacher, and trans person they could find of sexually grooming children suddenly throw themselves in with "actually it's ephebophilia"
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

I simply refuse to accept that police ever have to look like this. this is just pure cosplay. it should be illegal for cops to be dressed like soldiers going to war.

Perfect example of political media operating under the post-truth standard that (1) distorts the facts until the parties look approximately equal, and (2) holds “do MAGA voters care?” as a higher standard than “is it true?” or “is it important for the public to know about this?”
Wild to watch playbook run cover for this particular Trump scandal

There were literally congressional hearings where whistleblowers in the insurance industry cried while discussing being forced by superiors to repeatedly illegally deny payment for lifesaving care in the run up to the passage of the ACA. That’s what republicans want us to return to.
Tom Emmer: "You're gonna have to create high risk pools again. Just go back where Minnesota was before the ACA."

Something the US needs to accept too is that without a large-scale correction imposing consequences on a large number of people, the crisis of governance here will continue indefinitely

Castle Rock v. Gonzales is, no joke, my Roman Empire.

Once you learn the full details of this horrific case, you will never again be able to see policing as a force for safety or justice.

It will permanently alter your understanding of state violence, gender, and race in this country.
In 1999, a woman named Jessica Gonzales sought and obtained an order of protection against her physically abusive husband ("AH"), who had repeatedly threatened to kill her and their three children. The order included language specifically limiting when and where AH was allowed to see the children.

again i am perfectly fine with locking every one of Jeffrey Epstein's friends in prison, Democrat, Republican or Whatever.
Lest there be any insinuation that Dems spared their own. It would be tough for Kathy Ruemmler—Obama’s WH Counsel from 2011 to mid-2014—to come off looking worse in these docs the committee Dems released. oversightdemocrats.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

I am often frustrated by comfortable true blue democratic voters who don’t understand why so many millions of people have given up on the party.

LOOK AT IT.

Absolutely correct
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

they understand insurance. the entire premise of libertarian opposition to mandatory insurance is that they should not have to care about anyone else and be permitted to take risks. it's the same opposition to vaccination and taxation.

they are bad neighbors.

My conspiracy theory is: it would be incredibly easy for the Democratic caucus to control this big dipshit whose moods are "maudlin," "abusive" and "racist" and the fact that nobody is walking him around on a leash indicates that he is serving a purpose for them
My dude, there is still time to resign. Especially after capitulating and voting on a deal that would not extend Affordable Care Act subsidies WHICH WAS THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE SHUTDOWN. @fetterman.senate.gov

I genuinely think the Dems have decided it is beneficial for them to let healthcare skyrocket and fundraise vs give people help with healthcare costs. This is your better option of the two parties. Just two different sized dildos to jam up your ass. You want the 12” or 25”?
Democratic Senator Shaheen says ending the shutdown wasn't a failure because it achieves a later vote that will get Republicans on the record.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
