Explain to me why, when in exchange for giving up their nuclear weapons, the U.S. and other European nations agreed to protect Ukraine from foreign aggressors, but this agreement seems all but forgotten. The U.S. is not reliable at holding up its promises and obligations in international agreements.

Can anyone explain to me why Russia, the invading and at fault country in this situation, is not being asked to forfeit valuable minerals and assets to end the war?? Anyone??
