Local media is calling it: Katie Wilson will be the next mayor of Seattle.

Wilson ousts Mayor Bruce Harrell after running as a progressive challenger.

Her win is a west coast companion to Mamdani’s as a statement victory for the left.

Why does everyone keep calling it “The Epstein Ballroom?” Please stop repeating “The Epstein Ballroom” because it is not called “The Epstein Ballroom!” Don’t tell the news that it’s called “The Epstein Ballroom” and please don’t repost this!!!!!

literally if more than three people start yelling LOSER GET A REAL JOB at them in Chicago, they’ve been running away. the simplest forms of rest once are working the best in some cases.

and honest to god if we have to do this why not at least inject some sort of THEATRICAL ABSURDITY into it??
Fascism demands to be taken seriously and to be feared. That makes mockery a powerful tool. Is it how you "beat" fascism? I wouldn't go that far. But inflatable Reptar has surely poked a clearer hole in the story the White House is telling that the Democratic Party's multimillion dollar comms shops.
This video is everywhere because it's a hilarious visual refutation of Portland being on fire. You can't get a mass movement going without convincing the masses

so yes, this does do something actually

We brought frog eggs in to grow tadpoles in our aquarium but I don’t think they’re viable 🥺

Work requirements hurt poor people AND are a waste of money.

Arkansas spent $26 million on administrative costs for work requirements — and saw no increase in employment.

Georgia’s program cost $40 million in one year — 80% of that went to administrative and consulting costs.

Want to show your opposition to the current state of things? Wearing a respirator mask in all public spaces is a clear indication that you do not adhere to the status quo and that you care about your health and that of others. A truly radical (and 100% nonviolent) action. Ticks all my boxes. ✔️😷✊️

If rolling out this choreographed “How to talk to your kids about why empty shelves are good, actually” campaign isn’t enough to convince you that they know what’s coming and how bad it’s going to be, I’m not sure what it will take.
Bessent says that little girls who are sad about having fewer dolls should just have it explained to them that they will have a better life for it

Pediatric dentists in places where we don’t put fluoride in the water can basically print money. I’m always amazed at how every kid in every chair has their teeth rotting out of their heads when I’m at the dentist with my kids. We live in a region that does not fluoridate the water, unfortunately.

I don't think @shteyngart.bsky.social gets enough credit for predicting the venal idiocy of this particular timeline.

In Super Sad True Love Story (2010) Americans get mistakenly deported to gulags by a super-glitchy AI otter who calls everyone "pa'dner".

He saw it coming, down to the DOGE dog.
