Yep, I design banners too😜

What started with a few rebranding projects grew into my biggest challenge yet — 6ft banners for my school’s Open Evening. ✨

Own your strengths 💪🏻
Get creative 🎨
And celebrate your creations once they’re complete 🏆

Can't wait to start sending these out to celebrate pupils achievements!
✉️ designed by moi. Printed by @vistaprintuk

How it works? Staff nominate a pupil, along with a brief reason.

The team will then collate the nominations and distribute the postcards accordingly.

Not many can say they've had the privilege of working with someone they've admired for years - I feel incredibly lucky to be one of them.

Her kindness, empathy, respect, commitment, and passion are truly infectious — and I'm looking forward to learning and growing alongside her

Finally wrapped up our YR6 transition video – featuring some of our brilliant students showing the ropes to our soon-to-be YR7s! 🎥

Feel incredibly lucky to have had such a wonderful group of Ss assist me & am genuinely touched to have been presented with such a lovely gift!

YR9 smashed their coastal skills lesson today

SIDE NOTE: This activity was sourced from a fellow geographer (that I can’t seem to recall right now), but THANK YOU FOR SHARING 👊🏻

Oh I do love drawing synoptic links with my YR11s to demonstrate how much knowledge they have gained in the last few years.

They’re going to smash their Component 2 paper after half term #geography

Inspiring day at @researchEDWarr!

Listening to John Hattie on AI in education, Kate Jones on working memory, Abigail Alexis-Olubuyide on authentic leadership, Rosie Hannah-Wilson on “Fragile to Fearless” as well as Tom Sherrington and David Goodwin.

INCREDIBLE! Thank you.

What a beautiful day for a spot on on-site #fieldwork ☀️

YR10 investigating infiltration rates across various surfaces - a perfect opportunity to make 🔗 with our recent Rivers & river management topic #geographyteacher

When your colleague shares a technique, to gauge how confident Ss are feeling for their upcoming examinations, whilst helping inform planning for upcoming revision lessons, you know you’ve got to magpie it!

One copy will be passed around to collate results for the whole-class 👍🏻

Jelly babies in can only mean one thing… help Ss see how populations change over time - baby booms, disasters & more!

But let’s be honest, actual jelly babies sometimes mysteriously disappear… 🤣 which is why I use reusable paper ones #geographyteacher

While everyone else is dressing up as their favorite 📕 characters, I’ve taken a slightly different approach… because why dress as a wizard when you can represent the whole 🌎 ?

#Geographyteacher : finding a way to sneak our subject into every theme day since the beginning of time. #worldbookday2025

Nothing grabs the attention of YR8 like ‘Dark tourism’ 🧳

We kicked off the topic by asking Ss to think (&then draw) what a dark tourist may take with them on holiday, before investigating whether this particular type of tourism is trending #geographyteacher

Somewhere between these futuristic developments, I found myself in the University's map archives with the brilliant curator Donna, diving into historical cartography and its role in Geography education.

Old maps, new tech - turns out, they work together pretty well. [3/3]

I also got a demo of their £1.2 million data visualization observatory, where cutting-edge tech is being used for everything from planning supermarkets before they're
built to mapping crime, well-being, and obesity rates. [2/3]

Took a trip to @official-uom.bsky.social today to explore how VR is revolutionising Geography education with Dr Craig Thomas - and maybe even influencing our cosmic perspective of the world.
Can VR recreate that life-changing overview effect? Turns out, they're is looking into it.

Presenting pupils with a blank piece of paper & asking them to retrieve 🧠 from our previous lesson on the hydrological cycle can seem daunting, but when used sparingly with + encouragement, Ss rise to the challenge #geographyteacher

We then recapped it together, so they could add to their original

Ss seems to think 💧 is constantly flowing around the hydrological cycle

This little #geographyteacher game is a great way to demonstrate how water REALLY moves around and how long it can remain in the same location for period of time

YR8 smashed their tug of war activity this week to demonstrate opinions various stakeholders have of globalisation

The class definitively appreaciated the opportunity to be creative, as well as complete a more hands-on task #geographyteacher

YR9 experimented with a variety of data presentation methods today to show the population of 🇬🇧 ‘s cities

All before discussing the strengths & limitations of “their chosen presentation method”

How do you sum up #climatechange with emojis? 🌍🔥🌊😬💡➡️🌱💪

My YR10s took on the challenge, relating their #geography knowledge into such symbols!
Their creativity proves learning about the planet can be fun AND impactful. 🌟💭#EmojiChallenge #geographyteacher

A spot of retrieval
‘grid’ practice to transition those minds back to #geography mode with YR10 today.

Current topic: Climate change
