At our No Kings rally, I told a friend that I knew we wouldn't change the mind of the MAGA person driving by & giving us the finger, but we might affect the quiet person sitting beside them. This may also be true of these debates: no one involved is changing their mind, but maybe a viewer will.

I mean, DUH. Of *course* they went ahead with the demolition of the East Wing w/o consulting The Nat'l Trust For Historic Preservation or anyone else. These letters of "concern" being sent are waaay too late. If you want to stop Trump, you must start before he does. #EastWing #Ballroom

This certainly has been the defining difference between the parties in the last few decades: Republicans increasingly walk in lockstep, often betraying their own principles while Democrats increasingly criticize each other mercilessly, standing on principle rather than winning elections.

So glad you saw Reds. It's one of those movies that if you didn't see it when it first came out, like we old people did, it's hard to find a reason to dive in. Losing DK is a terrible reason, but at least you now know how terrific the film is and that it's worth revisiting every once in a while.

On this move, as with more and more things lately, it's misleading to describe them as Trump's plans or actions. This presidency was designed by others (Vought, Miller, Thiel?) to accomplish their goals via a wildly popular and easily manipulated narcissist.

Well 1-7 are insulting to experienced news professionals, and 8 & 9 are destined to fatally damage credibility...

Which leaves #10 - and the easiest way to test that is to watch her supervision of science reporting. Vaccines, climate change, the endangerment finding... those will tell the tale.

They had big shoed/voices to fill, but it was glorious. So happy to see Joshua Henry get to sing this role.
