I had to clarify to several people on there today that the bill doesn't include the right to kill elderly people because they are old with not a lot of time left. The fact that some people think, now this bill has passed, that all elderly people will now be killed by the state is really worrying.

It is the same for me. Last year I witnessed my mum's last few weeks in hospital and watched her die a slow agonising death. No palliative meds could help and the palliative team just had no other options to keep her comfortable. I wouldn't wish for anyone to have to go through or witness that.
