Unimaginative profile writer. Do stuff for the NHS but not the kind of stuff that heals the sick. Opinions stolen from someone else, but are definitely not those of my employer.

This is what tolerance of anti-migrant political rhetoric leads to. A surge in racial abuse against nurses and care workers. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

The wealthy want to scare you into leaving them alone.
They want to be free to exploit you and everyone else in this country so they can rake in more profits.

Don’t fall for their bullshit.

Wealth taxes now!

Random Americans saying "erm technically that's our building" is like English people saying "technically that's our royal palace" and both are wrong. Taxpayers might've paid for them but that's what having a ruling class is like

Why do people who live in big cities think that perfectly normal things, which happen in every city, could only possibly happen where they live?

Interesting that they can’t conceive that more people are becoming disabled because we are living longer but not in good health?

Just fuck off with this. How about start the conversation by highlighting how much immigrants contribute to the UK - not least by propping up the NHS and social care system!

Also - forced volunteering is not volunteering, it's unpaid labour.

1. This won’t impress any of the people who’ve gone off Labour since the election.
2. This won’t impress the racist “workers” who they want to appease.

Not sure who it’s actually meant to impress, but it’s quite impressive in its optimism that it’ll please someone.

Dehumanisation as policy.
It ignores people's actual lives and experiences in favour of some sick idea that migrants are just resources to be used and discarded at will.
It is incredible how Labour has become, in practice, the most anti-immigration government in decades.

Labour's whole pitch at the moment is "we have to attack minorities and marginalised groups, and reduce rights, to stop Reform attacking minorities and marginalised groups, and reducing rights".

People don't tend to vote based on negatives, and that's all Starmer is offering most voters. #r4today

the post office is a public service. it doesn’t need to make money. public transit doesn’t need to make money. the library doesn’t need to make money. some things exist for the public good and we desperately need lawmakers to stop thinking about them in terms of capitalism. these are not businesses.

The idea that digital ID cards will stop people working in the shadow economy and thus reduce small boat crossings is baffling

The very nature of the shadow economy (the only way asylum seekers can find work) is employers don’t check documents.. That would obviously continue with ID cards

You know what, yeah, people have concerns. They're concerned about paying bills, renting or buying a house, buying food, getting an NHS appointment etc. None of that's down to migrants.
If you attend a rally organised by Tommy Robinson, don't play the "legitimate concerns" card. You're a racist. 1/
Ranvir Singh: "I don't want to believe that 150,000 people are out & out racists.. the worry for me is that somebody whos got a concern.. they end up being [represented by] someone whos very extreme"

Absolutely, the far right is using issues like the boats to radicalise people
