Father of 3, maths teacher to many. Second in Department. NEU rep. Proud Bradfordian. Dedicated lefty. MDANT.
Little jaunt to Crosby beach to see the Antony Gormley statues.

Weather was lovely until 5 miles from the coast. Still, I suppose it makes it more atmospheric.

Warming up having breakfast.

A reminder.

My Firestick drags across photos from my Amazon Photos account as a screensaver.

It appears that in 2019 I went to see the @coldwarsteve.bsky.social exhibition @thetradesclub.bsky.social 😂😂😂

I still have the Cilla Black button badge I picked up.

Love them. Though my face doesn't show it.

Ordered some new glasses on Friday.

Varifocal and photochromatic.

Was told 7-10 days until I could pick them up.

Got an email this morning to say I can collect!

New specs for half term!

Seen a lot of BBC bashing recently.

This kind of headline doesn't help.

Does the story reveal:

a) A dodgy bloke and a damning tale of corruption, or
b) A man gaining a job elsewhere after being suspended (along with 140+ others) after refusing to accept a fire/rehire pay cut?

Spoiler: It's b.

For those that may need it.

I had a bonus day off on Friday and can confirm that a day off is, and always will be, absolutely magnificent.

Enjoy it, you amazing, beautiful people. Including, especially, all the #teachers

Keep on keeping on.

Last night, I had one of the worst night's sleep I've had in years.

According to my smart watch, I managed 2 hours and 32 minutes of kip.

I went to work feeling jet lagged, but improved during the day.

Tonight, I feel no different to any other school night.

Absolutely nuts.

Tonight, I'm in a room listening to the single most impressive man I've ever listened to.

If this man does not get a knighthood, then there is no justice.

Listening to his story about becoming a rugby player and his work for his mate, Rob Burrow, and MND.

Old car is in the garage and (hopefully) on its way to being mended.

Sun is shining, it's hot, hot, hot, and I've got a new book.

Time to head to the park and soak up some Vitamin C.

I have had a lovely break in South Wales.

What a beautiful place. Miles and miles of nothing but nature.

My shoulders have dropped about 6 inches even after the 5 hour drive home.

Stayed at a fantastic Air BnB. A proper home from home.

Come on in, Number 7.

Your time is up.

Lovely day today.

A view of the Rhondda Valley whilst listening to "Every Valley" by Public Service Broadcasting.

A delicious pub lunch on the outskirts of Merthyr Tydfil.

A pootle around Brecon town.

Most of all, just peace and quiet and chill.

Heading home tomorrow.

These 2 places are within 10 miles of my current location.

It's only the fact that I'm 55 and supposed to be better than this that is keeping me from going to them.

I'm staying in a Dark Sky area, and even though the moon is waxing gibbous (getting bigger and 3/4 full), there are so many more visible stars than at home.

I bloody hate light pollution.

I managed to head south before the worst effects of the storm hit home yesterday.

This is my garden until Thursday.

Spent a lovely couple of hours reading in the sun yesterday and then had one of the best night's sleep I've had in months.

And relax . . .

My youngest brother always sends me fantastic books for birthday and Christmas presents.

This year, with the end of the school year and various other stuff, I hadn't noticed his present hadn't arrived . . .

But it had. It was hidden in my parcel "hole".

Great card, too. ❤️

It's basically what Batman would drive if he lived in Sweden.

According to Top Gear magazine, "the type of car driven by a mid level drug dealer".

According to one of my Vice Principals, "the type of car driven by Police Interceptors".

I'll go with the latter.
