I understand the more layers more pieces you can make better movement, I meant the amount of layers each allows

I do know for live2d that it simply needs it to be in a psd file format, it doesn't accept any other file types, but you can use a number of other things to convert something to psd without Photoshop itself
I have no idea about the layers though...

If I may inquire, why would you need to export to Photoshop?
