Congrats, Mr. Harvey. Hoping to read your take on Sraffa very soon. Meanwhile I've bought the Turkish translation of your book "Marx, Capital and the Madness of Economic Reason" yesterday at a book fair.

As Pinkard puts it, Hegel felt uneasy with the interpreters or the so-called followers of Schelling.

The more I read Schelling, the more I feel sympathy for him. Reasons for that will unfold themselves in time but right now it's not clear even to myself.

In the chapter titled Understanding and Force, Hegel inflates a balloon and we wait with excitement to see what will happen. When the bubble finally bursts, Hegel says, "It was just a bubble, what else did you expect?"

"The class, which is the material dominant power of society, is also the dominant intellectual power. The class that owns the material means of production thus also establishes control over the conscious means of production." (Marx and Engels, German Ideology)

My PhD thesis is about Talcott Parsons' simple action scheme. His critique towards the economic action model is that it lacks normative element. With a twist, in the last 30 pages, I criticize him for neglecting the economic elements in the problem of order (Hobbes). [Image taken from abhipedia.]

I drank beer while reading Hegel because I remembered the words of an anti-Marxist many years ago about Marx: "Consciousness filled with Hegel, stomach filled with beer." Who said this? Friedman? Anyway, either this criticism is not true or I am not Marx, because I fell asleep because of the beer.

Our topic is Nozick's Experience Machine. It can be said that Cypher, as a selfish human being, 1) doesn't care about the situation of the world, i.e. conditions of the others. 2) He wants power which can be possible thanks to the situation of the world, i.e. conditions of the others.

After reading extensively about Spinoza, Fichte and Schelling, I think I'm ready to re-analyze Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit and analyze his Science of Logic for the first time. These are Turkish translations.
