At least it's honest, right? Intrusive questioning of women who don't conform to norms about how they should look, and women then being banned if they tell their inquisitor to mind his own sodding business, has always been the logical end point for the patriarchal project that is TERFdom.

This is from Autocracy, Inc, about how modern autocratic propaganda works.

I consider this every time I decide what to share and how to frame it.

Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.

This is also why the right wing don’t like the arts.
Reading novels increases empathy. That's not the opinion bit, that's established fact, look it up if you don't believe me. Here's the opinion: a reduction in novel reading is linked to a rise in fascism

“This policy is a fucking disgrace and will do harm to the people it affects, our economy, our services, and it’s morally reprehensible” is the correct response not “haha your numbers are wrong and it may not even be legal”

NOTHING will prepare you for this 45-second story arc. From "I'm just doing this because I love the flag, it's totally grassroots, and I'm not part of anything political"... to who actually gave him the flags the night before.

Anyone who believes it is an innocent movement needs to see this.

The media making out like the Robinson Rally was huge. 150,000 is tiny!

Compare it to the 'Free Palestine' march (up to 800,000), the anti-Brexit march (650,000) or the Iraq war demo (1.5 Million)

Disproportionate attention given to the gammon, as always.

I googled why our giant cactus was falling over and it’s because it’s being overwatered or underwatered, or is in too big a pot or too small, or is getting too much sun or too little.
It really would be so helpful if the signs of overwatering your plants were not also the signs of underwatering your plants

It’s absolutely criminal that anti-trans bigots are considered “experts on gender dysphoria” but actual trans people, you know, the ones who may actually have gender dysphoria, are “biased” and therefore can’t be consulted or listened to
"Wes Streeting is considering banning cross-sex hormones after two experts on gender dysphoria warned there were severe health risks associated with prescribing the drugs to children." [Times]

Most studies, of course, find that this is complete bullshit.

@jonnelledge.bsky.social ‘s newsletter is always worth reading, but this one in particular is very good
"But of course, the sudden bout of whatever-the-f*ck is not the only reason I’m not in a good place. Another is that the place I am in is Britain, where the governing party seems to have convinced itself that, “the far right is correct. Vote Labour” is in any way a winning strategy."

I was thinking about cave art this morning and found myself wondering why they only painted in caves. But of course they didn't, it's just that the caves preserved their art. I bet they painted every available surface. I bet the stone age world was trailed with art everywhere humans went.
