Brilliant evening for the @1972shp.bsky.social forum in York! Fab talks from a wonderful primary history leader (Charlotte S - not sure if she's on bluesky) and @petejackson.bsky.social!

Heartily recommend you attend one if you can.

Someone posted in the Mr T does Primary History group about monitoring as a history lead. These are my suggestions (from the top of my head).

Any others you'd add?

A common question asked is about activities using replicas/artefacts BUT this can easily miss the importance of collating sources. They must be placed within that sense of narrative arc to ensure value and avoid the misconception that one source = THE answer.

Well I didn't know this! A great fact if you're teaching Crime and Punishment!

An idea I'm working with at the moment for the early lessons of a history unit:

Should children engage in the same manner and 'detail' with every aspect of a timeline to ensure the hinterland is not minimised to the point it's lost?

Always lovely to receive feedback from a session!

If you've done a chronology workshop with me... you know the context.

If you haven't, you should book one and find out... 🤓

Started work on my next explorer pack to compliment the recently released Amelia Earhart lessons.

Which other explorers do you teach?

Just a response from me about how we might make more of chronology lessons in primary :)

Anonymised the poster and other response for politeness reasons.

There seems to be a lack of KS1 resources for the VE Day Commemorations in May so I've been working on this over the weekend. The aim is to publish for free tomorrow

The slides will have teacher notes but would you also like a video version to just press play on? 😊

Free access resource to help with commemorations of #veday80thanniversary #VEDay for KS2 from the Imperial War Museum teams that includes how to use accounts to study the event.

Worth looking into!

A surprise to no one I'm sure but working on the timelines for my forthcoming Amelia Earhart sequence for KS1.

I've broken it into two timelines to add a more precise emphasis to the important hinterland of her life and then the core knowledge which underpins the enquiry.

Feeling really proud of this one. My new project completed with the AMAZING team at the Historic Royal Palaces

Currently compiling a list of all the free, high-quality resources for schools to access for #VEDay

Does anyone know the best way to add a file onto Blusky for people to download once I've finished it?
