We'll be starting at Painter Park at 2pm & then walking down Lyndale Ave to demonstrate that Hennepin County's plan to put in a shared use path is not the right solution for this important street.
They even demonstrated that there's enough space for a separated 2-way bikeway in the Orange option.

Definitely. I like the new trail that goes west from the Stone Arch Bridge but it ends abruptly without a curb cut, which makes it unusable for a lot of people who can't easily go up or down that curb!

Demand is absolutely here. The Como (south) bike lot in particular needs to be expanded bc it's the safest one to get to from the SW, South, and SE, which is probably where the bulk of ppl are biking from.
& there's plenty of space to expand to the east, into a half-empty car lot.

I'm personally a fan of bumpouts at intersections that have the bike lane go through them, because they create a protected corner for people biking and slow down turning drivers.
But here they could have just extended the bumpout so that this can't be a potential parking spot.

I just watched as two B Line buses pulled up to the Lake & Lyndale intersection within seconds of each other and both had to wait the full light cycle for a handful of people in private vehicles to get through along Lyndale (and then the turn arrows) before the buses got the green light.
