† The railway system in Jamaica was constructed starting in 1845, making it the second British colony to have a railway system. The railway system's expansion between 1879 and 1900 connected the ports of Kingston, Port Antonio, and Montego Bay.

Fort Charlotte is an 18th-century coastal artillery fort in Lucea, Jamaica. It was built by the British to protect the port of Lucea and the northwestern coast of the island.
