Scanners will mess up your colors in one way or another. So take a clean white piece of paper, fill it with every color you have, and scan it. This will let you see how each color is affected.
This is also useful whenever you color something digitally and want to translate it to traditional art.

A picture I made for when El Tigre was announced for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.
He is one of my favorite nicktoons and I was so glad to see him in the game. :D
