You use the term 'hardwired'. but then give a social evolutionary account of why we might believe more confident people. What has this got to do with wiring?

Def! Interesting to me as a critical management scholar (sociologist) because so many orgs encourage their workers to bring 'their best self' to work. It's a cult of positivity. No way better of creating a cult than inserting a chip. I'm sure Musk would love this.

Liked your article @emilyherring.bsky.social and enjoying your book. The other aspect of this coporate fantasy is the idea of isolation and how it enables tyranny (Arendt). Employees of Lumen have opaque tasks, pushed between intimidation and infantilisation unable to seek solidarity,till series II.
