This image of NGC 5468, a galaxy located about 130 million light-years from Earth, combines data from the Hubble and James Webb space telescopes. This is the farthest galaxy in which Hubble has identified Cepheid variable stars.

🔭 The Universe is a dusty place.

This NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope picture shows swirling clouds of gas and dust near the Tarantula Nebula, the most productive star-forming region in the nearby Universe, home to the most massive stars known.

Admire this captivating image of the spectacular spiral galaxy NGC 300, located approximately 6 Mly away in Sculptor.

What is striking about the image is the extraordinary abundance of stars that can be seen.

We report: we constantly underestimate the fabric of our universe, even as we are aware that it is a much larger, much more colourful tapestry than we could ever conceive. For every little thing that has been understood and explained, there are millions more that escape meaning.

Added an additional 9 hours to the 10 I took around this time last year. The Christmas Tree Cluster, Cone Nebula and Fox Fur Nebula make up the NGC 2264 region located in the constellation Monoceros.

This infrared color image by NASA's WISE shows the supernova remnant IC 443, also known as the Jellyfish Nebula.

It's located near the star Eta Geminorum, some 5,000 ly away in the constellation Gemini.
