FALLON: (giggling) So, heh, so that's a video of me in space, wow!
ALTMAN: Exactly.
FALLON: Could you generate a video of me where I'm not just a useful clown for fascism? Where my work has meaning?

We’re relying on foodbanks to fill the gaps left by a shrinking welfare state. This article by Community Organisers CEO Nick Gardham explains why that risks normalising deprivation.

Normalising deprivation – when charity is the default response to poverty
The rise of foodbanks shows how charity has filled the gaps of a failing system and now risks normalising hardship

… burdens of negotiating the obstacles — a process made adversarial in part because, as Michael notes, disabled people and their caregivers are *more scrutinized* because of mistrust about the need for accommodations — is not something every parent or guardian can navigate.

Free yourselves from the shackles of caring what those evil fucks would want so we can try and actually do good.

‘But drivers hit animals all the time!’ Yes! That is bad!! We should have fewer cars on the road, not replace transit and intermodal options with more cars developed by companies that freely admit they dgaf about actual humans let alone animals!!! (Sorry I am very riled up about this.)

When I worked at a food bank, it wasn’t a question. It was the repeated assumption of Christians that I’m a Christian because there’s no way a person wants to help others without god’s command.
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

Respectfully, what’s the debate?

The president of the United States has called for the trial and execution of members of Congress in a manner that would make Charles I blush.

As a constitutional matter, I fail to see where there is room for reasonable disagreement about what happened yesterday.
President Trump’s recent statements accusing Democratic lawmakers of making “seditious” comments to military and intelligence community members have ignited a free speech debate.
