Picture of my open hand holding two almost mature but very small shaggy manes (Coprinus comatus) that popped up in the yard right before the first frost’s of the year. A great addition to scrambled eggs. All in all it was a terrible mushroom season in southwestern Colorado.

I’ve been happy with my chile harvest this year. It’s been unseasonably hot and dry around here all summer but I was able to keep my pepper plants alive!
A colorful bunch of peppers and a purple and yellow speckled tomato. I don’t know offhand what the tomato is but the split chile is a Hungarian Hot Wax that I am snacking on the longer chiles are from Hatch varieties and the smaller ones are stunted Española variety.

A fairly close up picture of a cluster of Blue Oyster Mushrooms fruiting from a hole drilled into a 5 gallon bucket filled with straw and mushroom sawdust spawn. The straw under the bucket is starting to regrow and the grass is a nice spring shade of green. This is my first year growing Blue Oysters (Pleurotus ostreatus var. columbinus)but I also have and still grow Winecaps (Stropharia rugosoannulata).
