She is slightly smaller than your average pony. Former student at Celestias School of magic. She is a full time researcher of ancient pony lore and of ancient equestria. But she day lights as a part time librarian and occasionally pony teacher. Her cutie mark represents her love and admiration of the misunderstood, macabre and unwanted things in equestria. It consists of a inky cap mushroom for the decay of life and it's simplicity. Green Crystals for "gems" found in dark and damp places. A Crows Skull for the respect of life that has passed on. Her glasses are a mandatory part of her design and are constantly worn except to sleep! Her glasses are to protect her eyes with a magical filter crafted straight into the lenses to help dampen a ponies natural sparkle when she looks at them. This is a trait that all unicorns possess but some are able to see a ponies sparkle with much more intensity than their other unicorns. Midnight in particular can see these frequencies at a very bright rate, especially when a pony is excited or doing what their cutie mark is telling them. Without her glasses she suffers from severe migraines and has a hard time even with her glasses being around newly marked foals as for a few days their sparkle is exceptionally bright.
