Had an amazing time with my fellow mosquito wranglers Ary Faraji (MUVE President) and Larry Reeves (U Florida FMEL). Took a collecting trip to find Aedes togoi, a mosquito that uses rocky ocean-side outcrops as larval habitat.

Fuck cancer. He likely has an tumor on his spine explaining his lack or coordination. He'll get steroids for as long as he has quality left. I'm broken knowing we'll be saying goodbye this soon.

@entsocamerica.bsky.social Since when did the society start advertising specific products to its members? I don't think this is what our scientific organization should be doing to remain objective even with a disclaimer. I'm not a fan of receiving email spam from my society.

Our oldest moved one of our cats (who is strongly bonded to her) to her apartment at college. This is the photo she sent us. Told her to sleep with the lights on.

Along with everything else going on one of our cats, Badger, developed rear leg walking issues in May. Initally he was isolated and recovered, but started again in June. Since then we've tried different drugs but it persists.

Sorry. They decided to molt into pupae meaning my window to capture their lovely larvalness has closed.

Was going to take some photos of these larve but they had other ideas I guess.🦟🧪

Going to be in the H'burg area on November 3? Come hear me talk about mosquitoes (not as vectors but as their own very cool animals with some amazing stories). I'm doing my Science Communication part. 🦟🧪

New paper! Former MS student Nate Dalhberg investigated some of the hypotheses for the apparent defense of Orthopodomyia signifera against Toxorhynchites. Short answer, it's complicated and we still have not solved it but have narrowed the field.🦟

Go easy on me. I bought a hoodie on clearance and decided to turn it into a homage to Alien (1978). I don't pretend to have any artistic skills but had fun doing it. 👩‍🚀🕷️🖥️
