I don't know man, there's just a lot going on right now.

Fun fact - trick or treating door to door was invented in Canada. Kingston Ontario, in fact. And saying "trick or treat" was started in Alberta. So really, it's the best Canadian version of an Irish holiday.

And the way they are people one minute and babies the next. My 5yo cried this morning because her banana had a spot on it, and 10 minutes later she told me "you're stressing me out, man."

Absolutely agree.

I would just like to note that my comment is coming at this issue from the perspective of an eighth grader choosing duotangs for junior high, but sure, lets bring epistemology into it.

Humanities are always secondary colours (interpretation) STEM are primary (absolutes). As long as math & science are primary, I can overlook making math something other than red and science something other than blue, which are obviously the correct and proper colours.

I hope it works well for you! The only other non-toxic remedy I've tried for pests (scale, mostly) is neem oil, but it STINKS and it can burn delicate plants if it's too strong - I lost 3/4 of a 10 year old jade plant to neem. Cinnamon is my go-to for soil, and I use rubbing alcohol for scale now.

It also stops soil fungus in it's tracks - that's what the gnats like to feed on. It won't hurt your plants, and it smells lovely.

A non-toxic soil gnat remedy I absolutely swear by: powdered cinnamon.

Cover the surface of your soil in a layer of powdered cinnamon (and mix a bit into the top layer for good measure). It eliminates the excess moisture that allows the gnats to feed & grow. They'll disappear in a day or two!
