Retroactively, with the modern games in mind, I like to think of the Helmets as Argentan armour which would account for their medieval style.

I suppose they could also be representations for the helmets that the marines who arrived on Phobos were wearing.

I'm also consistently putting off returning to my Twitch stream so there may be posts about that when I eventually get back around to it 😆
