Bede, Gregory of Tours. Medieval Movies & links to history podcasts. Antiques friendly.
BTW avoiding MAGAs & their UK pals keeps my blood pressure down.
I must say I have no idea where these women have trained as actresses but they should consider a different profession. At least so far the men are more game to it. Still it is not good. Now googling for better police procedurals. Long sigh. Hope will help this hunt.

I strongly suggest you have a peak. OTOH there is a series called Murders in Strasbourg. French. OMG. Badly written. But admittedly set in Alsace. YouTube can give you as much touring without appalling synopsis and this is before we consider the charisma less main actresses (so far a trio of OMG)🧵⬇️

@scotchmist31.bsky.social I have binged it. Really dark, really bad. Really noir. Not to mention the men in black, the real men in real black along red runes on their uniform. A very interesting era when it comes to law and order officers keen to solve murders without getting hierarchy suspicious 🧵⬇️

I can see the video but not on BlueSky Anyhow it is very good @scotchmist31.bsky.social I dread to imagine how nearly impossible it must have been for true policemen to do a proper job when you had the Gestapo and the SS breathing on your neck pushing for a racial agenda. Nothing to do w/Justice.😈

My poor friend, I am afraid all you well get is to be told 'lessons will be learned'. The part 'to be forgotten immediately afterwards' will be muted immediately. After all, this is the NHS. 'Gaslighting is de rigueur'.

@jem-duducu.bsky.social @tragedyman.bsky.social why? oh, why are people happy to go on offense making repulsive movies when there are less controversial early medieval storylines fit for everybody (sort of)? Alboin tragic death though he asked for it, Brunhildis from riches to rags (dark humour)😉

Italy, Germany are not ashamed of the Goths so why is Spain mute? Then I discovered en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amaya_(... Amaya, filmed during the Franco era. Yes, about Visigoths, importantly how supposedly they were betrayed by Jews. Which explains why a lot of people are mercifully unaware of it. 🧵⬇️

Copying @jem-duducu.bsky.social into post. I have long been surprised as why Spain was not celebrating much its early medieval history. After all France has operas about its blood thirsty Frankish queens, a TV series about rebellious nuns (led by none other but by Ethelbert of Kent sister in law!)🧵⬇️

Well, you need to tell him if orchids are male or female or how to recognise one from the other. Edgar has manners. He wants rightly to call people by their right names.

Basina of Thuringia, husband dumping volva queen
Chlothildis who eloped into night fleeing a murderous uncle
Radegundis the hostage bride who ran away😇,
Fredegundis (Galswintha murderess) & Brunehaut (Galswintha sister),
Balthildis the slave, later France only English Queen making it to sainthood.

We often forget Frank history inspired some parts of #RICHARDWAGNER #TheRing with Brunehild/Brunehaut, Gunther (king, saint & Brunehild long suffering brother-in-law. Marie-Antoinette was compared to her when meddling into French politics. Niche as they may be, Frank Queens were tough cookies😉😜🧵⬇️

in 1990, Marisa Berenson became Radegundis, modern Radegonde. King Chlothar the Elder reluctant consort. The convent she funded made 589CE papyri headlines as nuns, led by 2 royal princesses(see what I did) rebelled against her successor. All of this is true yet ignored. Though not by musicians. 🧵⬇️
