5 oil+chemical firms pledged to collect or recycle 15mn tonnes of plastic waste. In 5 years, they produced 1000x as much plastic as they reused / recycled. Then they quietly dropped the 15mn pledge as "unrealistic". Truly inspirational levels of underachievement.
