Bookish boomer, leftie, no cats or dogs but I love them.
Exactly. It’s a massive tort to force councils to sell assets including privatising water. Guess who’s mates a lining up to pick through for bargains.

My mum was usually confident in her style but had a melt down one week out and shopped for a complete new outfit! This was also completely against her usual fiscal style. The pressure eh! The bride otoh just wanted to get through the whole fandango.

We live on a street that leads to the Avon and red zone walks. It was lovely to see families out walking and biking. Suspect a lot of kids learned to ride or upskilled during this time.

Police are not discounting the possibility that this is the work of a shadowy group known as the SLA.

A lot of farmers approaching retirement age in next decade or so. They’re looking to max short term profit and then sell up. So not worried about long term or reputation?

Thinking of my poor mother in law who catered for two large adolescent sons, a boarder, friends they randomly brought home, five younger children and husband. She presided over large steaming pots of meat and vege, huge baking dish puddings etc. Bottomless teenage appetites.

There must be some great stories about the painting of these graffiti post quake. Some of the ones you could see from Manchester Street etc.

Ah come on Chris. It’s perfectly clear. Smash it all down so developers, farmers and industry get an unimpeded run to gouge the environment. Plus all the vulture govt mates sniffing the wreckage for bargain property and other asset deals, high paid job appointments, business opportunities etc etc.

We all know eh Donna. The fact that Nick Smith is still around as a mayor and therefore could be making environmental decisions again!!! Crazy scary.

I feel your all caps and raise it! These klueless, kowardly kreeps.
November 26, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Yeah me too. Also the quality of mayor across the country is variable to say the least. The idea of some of those know nothing little men taking decisions on environment, public transport etc is totally scary.

Hey drones will be useful for filming the disaster as it unfolds so they can analyse what went wrong.

I think they might be hoping that all the regional council rules and responsibilities will disappear and they can do what they like.
