Travel Safety Plan for folks with an X gender marker on their documents! (3/3) Phone safety and considerations for children with X gender markers.
Text: Phone safety. 1. Battery bank. Bring a spare battery with you. When folks are detained, you may not know why or for how long. If using face ID, you can be compelled to unlock your phone by law enforcement. If you have a pin or passcode, they would need your consent and a warrant to search your phone! Children with X gender markers are likely to have their documents treated the same as adults with X gender markers. -Expect TSA/CBP to ask your child questions about their travel and their relationship with you. -Take special care to travel with your child's birth certificate, adoption decree, and/or permission letter from the other parent. Things are constantly changing but the one constant is community care. I hope this brings a sense of preparedness and practice for my queer/trans/gnc family. 💗🙏🏽
