My goals are simply more interesting to me than their warped reality these days—and that's something I couldn't have said even five years ago.

As for why, someone once told me that you can immediately throw away any mail that doesn't have a first class stamp because it's junk mail or advertisements. If someone's lie to themselves wasn't sent with a first class stamp, it's their agenda, not yours, and not worth opening.

5. Not responding to so many dumb things. Did you know that my ex-boss from 20 years ago wrote a scathing post about how they fired me (not even true) and I am a hot mess in their eyes? No, you didn't, because I didn't give enough of AF to talk about it or respond to it.

4. Energetically committing to a new and huge goal. Letting almost everything else fall to noise. I finished two big cycles in indie publishing and building my family. I still love helping authors and I love my family (obviously!), but I need a new challenge. It's time to go after this thing now.

3. Enrolled my second child in preschool a year early. This was a last minute thing decided a few weeks ago. I realized that I was getting 20ish hours a week but it was basically equally one *good* day of work. I was ready, they were ready in a way I didn't see with my first child.

2. I doubled my coaching/consulting rates. Starting October 1st my new rate is $500/hour. Pricing shifts come from energy shifts. I will likely work with more authors who have really specific problems and the leverage to take big action, as well as working with more coaches/nonfiction people.

1. Systemizing my whole nonfiction business...But also making myself more accessible to people who want to go deeper with weekly calls. I'm scaling the asynchronous side of my business, going deeper with my Substack community, and doubling down on what I do better than anyone.

Tiers that have paperbacks are unfortunately only going up, not down across all of crowdfunding/direct sales, due to the chaos of supply chains and shipping. I will attempt to offer fair and affordable pricing, as well as work with overseas printers to ship affordably to international people!
