Het is alleen maar verwarrend dat OV Pay nu een pas krijgt terwijl dat merk al enkele jaren specifiek is gebruikt om juist zonder OV pas te reizen. Dit zorgt alleen maar weer voor verwarring bij incidentele reizigers die geen pas hebben.

True, but it's both the cancellation of the Paris trains and the transition to the new trains on the Zürich-Hamburg and Zürich - Vienna routes. That's at least 6 classic compositions that are not going to be used next year.

The ÖBB will have a lot of spare sleeper cars available next year without any plans to use them on new routes. This year they already rented out a Comfort Liner to RDC, so it's not impossible that ES will source some NightJet cars.

Lineas has 9 Traxx that can run FR, BE and DE, but it's not clear if one of them will be available for ES.

This lazy design makes the train far more accessible for everybody in regular operations, both with standard 760mm platforms, than the old trains. And with 550mm platforms it's just a small step.
Evacuations onto the tracks are very rare occasions, it doesn't justify old style steps on new trains.

Don't blame the train, blame the DSB for not building a proper platform at a station where all major international trains stop. Or blame them for making these train stop in a small village like Padborg in the first place.

Prorail kan de trein ook goedkeuren maar met snelheidsrestricties op de meeste trajecten in NL, dan is die niet bruikbaar voor de IC Berlijn. Dan heeft Talgo dus niet geleverd wat ze hadden beloofd, er wordt al gesproken dat de DB aanstuurt op een rechtzaak.

Voor NL weten we dat de aslast hoog is, maar dat dit voor de Vectron geen probleem is. Configuratie van de ICE L is natuurlijk wel heel anders en is nieuw voor NL. Ik kan me goed voorstellen dat Prorail meer dynamische tests wil doen om beter te zien wat de effecten zijn op de spoorbaan.

Not really surprising considering all the construction work going on on the line right now. Especially with the single track part you only need 1 delayed ICE or freight train to completely mess up the time table. Of course things should get better when the 3rd track will eventually be completed.

And of course: no trains ordered = yet another news article. I would love to see it happen though, especially now the ÖBB has tempered their Nightjet ambitions. Let the other big national railways step up their game and make those investments.

This is just a livery update, it's the 4th NJ car that got it and all 4 are a different type. It looks like it's rolled out slowly on the whole fleet. Maybe not on the oldest Bcmz cars, as they are likely the next in line to be retired.

The freight doesn't have to be unloaded at a passenger station of course. You can do it at the yard where the trains are serviced for the return trip. The freight part can also be shunted away to a different dedicated loading location.

@ns.nl tried this in 2000 with the Overnight Express from Amsterdam to Milan. It lasted 1,5 years before it was cancelled because of a lack of cargo (and operational issues). The main cargo was flowers, first using old German Post cars and later also containers. www.martijnhaman.nl/overnightexp...

Ik weet het van de treinstellen, dat is jammer, maar in de spits is er daardoor geen groei meer mogelijk.
Controles zie ik eigenlijk alleen op het station van Gouda, niet meer op de trein. Het probleem zijn de mensen die 1 halte meerijden, die wachten gewoon een kwartier als ze een contoleteam zien

De uitval van treinen is nu gelukkig een stuk beter. Het blijft wel een probleem dat de treinen in de spitsen toch nog wel te kort zijn. Ook mag er wel vaker tijdens de rit gecontroleerd worden. Zeker tussen de stations in W'veen en Boskoop wordt er stevig zwart gereden.

SBB has recently said that they have zero intentions to go international on their own. So even if they had the trains they would not compete with SNCF or Eurostar.

The change to the new generation Nightjet for the Amsterdam - Austria trains is not a certainty. The bookings for after April 7 have recently opened, but only with seat/bed options that are only possible in both old and new trains.
